The warm spring days along the Orange River in the Northern Cape has been ideal for the development of our harvest and we expect to start harvesting our Prime Seedless grapes within the next fortnight. Here is an example of the magnificent grapes that are nearly ready for harvest!
Prior to the start of the 2019 harvest, Villion Farms officially opened their massive new packing facility at Hex River. This state-of-the-art facility now provides a central packing for the grapes harvested at the various Villion Farm facilities in the Hex River Valley and surrounds. Our Sable Seedless is currently ripening and our harvest is likely to commence next week and the crop is looking great. This beautiful, fully black grape also has an unusual delicious flavour and is a firm favourite with our receivers.
Our harvest has started in the Hex River Valley and we are currently packing mixed punnets with Starlight and Prime. The ideal hot, dry conditions that we have experienced during the past few weeks are ideal for producing quality, healthy grapes as seen here in the mixed punnets.
Our farms have creche and preschool facilities for our staff children which offers the basic elements of Early Childhood Development. During the past two months the creche at our Raaswater production unit in the Orange River has been running a "live and learn" programme. The creche teacher has received training to offer the
